THC and CBD direct to consumer, wholesale, and retail packaging

As a child of the 60’s, I could have never imagined the incredible popularity of CBD products and the number of states who have already legalized medical and/or recreational marijuana. Our home state of Illinois will be joining that fast growing recreational list on January 1st, 2020.

These products have one thing in common; they all need packaging. Some will require bulk packaging for producers to retailers, others will be shipping DTC (direct to consumers) via e-commerce, and many will want to sell directly to the retail dispensaries so they will require attractive, secure display packaging.

Salazar Packaging – one company, MANY capabilities

We are one of the few companies who can help you create paperboard as well as corrugated packaging. Most do one or the other, but we recognized years ago that the lines between different packaging material applications were getting fuzzier and fuzzier. Today a combination of both substrates, used together, can often result in the most attractive and most economical packaging design solution.

A quick visit to our www.SalazarPackaging.com web site, blog, or gallery will prove we have been doing both for close to twelve years. We have achieved many different structural designs able to accommodate CBD and cannabis bags, cartons, bottles, liquids, capsules, and just about every other format available now or in the foreseeable future.

Unique market with some unique needs

CBD packaging boxes and inserts by Salazar PackagingAside from standard or custom material options, these CBD and cannabis markets have additional concerns about issues like tamper evidence and security. That is when our application focused structural design capabilities can help you solve problems before they even happen.

For example, one design option available to you is our peel and seal adhesive strips to help close your box securely until the easy open tear strip is torn by the consumer. That tends to discourage tampering or pilferage by the dishonest or the simply curious. The products you are shipping arrive looking attractive, safe, intact, and in the case of glass, primary packaging such as tincture bottles – unbroken.

Custom printing capabilities for CBD and cannabis

The other thing that makes us unique is our ability to print using a flexographic, digital or offset printing process. To some degree, the substrate used and the graphic design will at times lead us in one direction or the other, but most of the time we can give you exactly what you want. In some situations, a combination of materials or print processes can be the best solution. For example, our recommended design might include a corrugated shipping box and a paperboard insert. Or perhaps a shipper box that is printed outside using a basic flexographic process to avoid attracting unwanted attention. A simple, basic exterior can be combined with a digitally printed box or insert to create a maximum impact unboxing experience.
