Credibility in E-Commerce Packaging for over Seventeen Years

As the packaging industry has become more competitive and intense, manufacturers and distributors have become increasingly aggressive in their marketing. We appreciate marketing that enthusiastically promotes products or capabilities, however making wild claims offering pricing or service that is beyond realistic, does nothing but disappoint end user customers.

We’ve been doing custom branded packaging for e-commerce for a long time, and we have a pretty good idea of what is and what is not possible.

Custom Packaging from Stock

That sales pitch is probably intentionally confusing. If it is in stock and sitting on the shelf waiting for your order, it was made in advance. If it was indeed pre-made, probably in larger quantities, it is not custom. That makes sense right?

Custom Packaging Ships Within (name it, 1, 2, 3…) Days

We never lie about lead times, to secure an order. Our standard lead time on most first order custom packaging we offer is 3 to 4 weeks. Lead times can extend depending on the time of year and/or the type of packaging you want. We have shipped first run orders in two weeks but that is the exception, not something we can promise on every new order. BTW, lead time on repeat orders is typically half the time of what first orders take.

Huge (30, 40, or even 50%) Discounts

This reminds me of when you go to a jewelry store where you know prices are jacked up, just so they can advertise a large discount percentage. We have never done business that way, but we guarantee our prices for custom packaging will ALWAYS be competitive. Knowing what paper, board, inks, and labor cost, no one is in a position to offer those kind of discounts on any packaging product, even the largest of producers. Our goal has always been to be the best producer of DTC packaging, and that usually means we are not the lowest bidder.

Honest Marketing and Packaging Web Site

Our primary site www.SalazarPackaging.com was recently redesigned and we made it a point to show some of our work in our photo gallery and throughout the site. We sincerely believe that our work speaks for itself. We don’t have banners, artwork and special effects making promises we know we cannot keep.

Unrequested, Unrelenting Chat Assistance

This one is a personal pet peeve. We offer a chat box on demand. If you want help, you can get it quickly and easily. I hate visiting a web site where someone begins trolling me the moment I get there. That is totally unnecessary if you make it easy for people to contact you if they want to.

History is on Our Side

Many of our customers have been with us for 10 years or longer. Some of them are leaders in the e-commerce market and are household names, highly respected in their product categories. They are often offered “low ball” pricing that is unsustainable in the long run. Our customers know that working with us, they will always have fair pricing and exceptional quality and service. Even through the craziness of Covid, when one customer’s business literally doubled overnight, we have NEVER let any customer run out of boxes.

As always, our advice is talk to us. Tell us about your business, your needs and where you would like to see an improvement in your packaging order and fulfillment process. The cost of the box is important, but your greatest savings opportunity may be in the cost of assembly, and shipping. Or perhaps it is time for a redesign?
