2024 – The Year of the E-commerce Start-up, Redesign, and New Product Launch

With our last bite of Thanksgiving leftovers, we are now officially into the holiday season. All of our e-commerce customers are working hard and hoping for a busy and profitable year end.

Others are excitedly looking at 2024 as the year to finally make their entrepreneurial dream come true and launch their own web-based company. The business plan is complete, funding is ready, and the homework is done!

For our current customers and others, 2024 can be the year of revamping either a current product line or adding a brand-new product or category. Their web site might need updating or upgrading, and are considering a new marketing look, and packaging for the new year.

2024 is sure to be interesting and exciting and here is how we can help with some experienced advice.

New products and e-commerce companies in 2024.

The most important thing we recommend to people who may be delving into the world of e-commerce, DTC packaging, is get help! As the first “Related Post” link below says, creating a new package is not a DIY project and you are not going to find the answer in a how to, YouTube video. The process is simply too complicated, the options are many, because every new product, package, situation, and company is truly unique.Packaging Design

We ask a lot of questions of any new potential customers, because the more we learn about their application, the better we can advise them. Certainly, the product is important, but we also want to know about who the customer (DTC recipient) is and what their expectations are. What image and experience do our customers hope to create. Packaging That Communicates is more than a catchy slogan, it is designed to help our clients determine what their packaging is saying and how they are saying it.

We have not even begun to discuss the “nuts and bolts” side of the process. There are so many board types and grades. At least three different print processes and ink types, and don’t forget the custom combinations. For example – digital out/flexo inside, label inside/litho outside, etc. We also offer one of the widest variety of custom yet inexpensive features such as inserts, partitions, dividers, easy open and resealable options. Our goal is always the same, do it right the first time, at the lowest possible cost.

Redesigns of Existing Packaging

Here is where you have a big advantage compared to our first time, new businesses above. You have data and history, telling you which products are selling and which are not. Sales numbers are great but equally valuable are cost comparisons. Shipping, and especially packaging labor costs (Amazon, 3PL, etc.) are rising rapidly, as profit margins shrink in an effort to make your products more economical and a better value. Getting caught in the middle is a tough place to be.

Or you may feel like your brand is getting tired and based on inquiries, calls and conversations, we believe 2024 is going to be a big year for graphic redesigning. We were all taught that logos, colors and an easily identifiable “look” were precious and not to be messed with. That may all be very true for household, retail brands displayed on a store shelf competing with dozens of similar products but less true of e-commerce brands.

No matter the reason or driver, we can help produce a new or redesigned package at the lowest possible cost, often times delivering a more attractive, more efficient package, while reducing your net costs.

Let us show you how it’s done. Call us at 630-551-1700 or contact us through this link to begin the conversation. Our experience is measured in decades not months so let one of our professional e-commerce specialists help you.
