Each Summer we like to write a post to remind potential customers that it’s not too early to begin thinking about and getting the ball rolling on holiday packaging in June, July and August. But it’s equally important to reiterate that October is not too late to still get custom holiday packaging in time for the season. If you’ve waited until now, you may think that you are left with only the option to get plain, unprinted stock packaging this year, because custom packaging likely takes a long time to see to completion. The reality is, there are many custom printed options that ship in 3 weeks or less. You are not too late!
Custom Printed Die Cut Mailers
Even during our busiest time of year, a first-time custom die cut mailer order typically ships out within 2-3 weeks of final artwork approval. The process of selecting a mailer box size, developing graphic art, selecting ink colors and other variables are largely up to you regarding timing. As we like to say, the delay is rarely on our end. We tend to move as slow or as fast as you want us to. We have some customers who work with us for many months before they are fully ready to order. But when we need to, we can turn around samples and proofs in a very short time to meet a deadline. Production lead time will always boil down to machine and board availability, but we have many plants across the country and are almost always able to squeeze in production time somewhere.
Custom Printed RSCs
Packaging is always application-driven, and certain products lend themselves to certain packaging solutions. In some cases an RSC may be a better fit than a die cut mailer. You can still print your branding (inside the box too) and create beautiful holiday packaging. We can customize to any size you need, without any tooling cost in most cases. This may mean saving several days in the process as well, as tooling can take up to a week to produce. Print plates may also be lower in cost by comparison, so if you have a one-time holiday packaging design, you likely want to avoid a higher cost print plate if possible.
Custom Printed Mailer Envelopes
If you really want a fast turnaround, we have shipped custom mailer envelopes in less than a week from art approval. The technical lead time is 1-2 weeks, but we tend to hit on that shorter end in most cases. Mailer envelopes can be an ideal packaging solution for many products, including soft goods, clothing, accessories, and more. Custom Printed Paper Tape
Our printed water activated tape typically carries a 2 week lead time from print proof approval. Great as a complimentary component to an already branded box, or as standalone branding on an unprinted box, tape can be a great touch for the holiday season. We have seen printed tape used on all three of the above mentioned packaging products, as it is an excellent, strong, eco-friendly alternative to plastic tape.
